The website ins.web.auth.gr is the property of the Institute of Modern Greek Studies (Manolis Triandaphyllidis Foundation) of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, located in Thessaloniki, New Building of the Faculty of Philosophy, 4th floor, Room 418, Postcode: 541 24, Thessaloniki, Tax Identification Number 090010665, 10th Public Revenue Service of Thessaloniki. The website is used for the provision of information about the products available by the Institute of Modern Greek Studies, for the updating of users with regard to events and activities organized by the Institute, for the provision of electronic, educational and scientific applications, as well as the online ordering and purchase of the Institute’s products, print and digital.

Before making use of the services provided by the website, please read the following terms carefully. Moreover, users should review the General Terms and Conditions page regularly for any modifications or changes.

The contents of the website ins.web.auth.gr are protected by copyright and are owned exclusively by the Institute of Modern Greek Studies and their creators. Users may browse, download, interact with, store and print material for personal use only. Use of the contents of the website for commercial purposes or other exploitation is prohibited.

Any idea, comment, suggestion, graph, logo or ad displayed on the website ins.web.auth.gr is the intellectual property of the Institute.

2. SHIPPING INFORMATION – DELIVERY COSTS

Domestic deliveries

Orders are delivered either by a courier company or by the Hellenic Post. Delivery time for Greece is 3-5 business days. For orders within Greece amounting to 25 euros or more (inclusive of VAT), there is no delivery charge. For orders less than 25 euros (inclusive of VAT) there is a delivery charge of 6.50 euros payable by the purchaser. The Institute of Modern Greek Studies is not responsible for any delay in delivery caused through no fault of its own or due to unexpected or unforeseen circumstances beyond its control.

International orders are delivered exclusively by the Hellenic Post. For Zone 1 countries there is no delivery charge for orders amounting to 120 euros or more, whereas for Zone 2 countries there is no delivery charge for orders amounting to 200 euros or more. Note: To reduce delivery cost, we dispatch your order in packages of 2 kilos when deemed necessary.

Delivery Time

Delivery time for Zone 1 countries (i.e., the countries of the European Union, the Balkan countries, Iceland, Norway, Switzerland and Turkey) is 5 business days. Delivery time for Zone 2 countries (i.e., the countries not included in Zone 1) is 10 business days.

The Institute of Modern Greek Studies is not responsible for any delay in delivery caused through no fault of its own or due to unexpected or unforeseen circumstances beyond its control.

3. RETURNS AND REFUNDS

Our e-shop offers you the opportunity to return products for whatever reason, which you are not obliged to notify to us. Items should be returned within fifteen (15) days of the day you receive it. In order for an item to be eligible for return:

1. it should be in the condition in which you received it, i.e., the item has not been opened and has not been used.

2. the accompany proof of purchase should also be returned.

Return Options

Returns are managed by the carrier that made the delivery.

Return Costs

Our e-shop will refund the return cost only:

1. when there is a delay in delivery (with the exception of delayed deliveries due to unexpected or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control),

2. when a delivered item has been damaged or is faulty.

In any other case, return costs are charged to the recipient.

4. PRIVACY POLICY

High priority is given to safeguarding confidential personal information in accordance with the guidelines for data protection issued by the Hellenic Data Protection Authority. Any information received is treated in the strictest confidence. Purchases via the Institute’s e-shop requires that you notify the following personal data to us:

  • your full name,
  • your e-mail address
  • your phone number, and
  • your full postal address (address, postcode, city, county, country).

For the issuing of invoices in the case of companies, the following additional information is required:

  • company name,
  • company activity,
  • Tax Identification Number (T.I.N.), and
  • the Public Revenue Service (P.R.S.) to which the company is registered.

For credit card purchases, the following information is also required:

  • the credit card type/name,
  • the credit card number,
  • the card’s expiry date, and
  • the cardholder’s name.

Disclosure of personal data to third parties

Our e-shop does not disclose, sell, share or trade your personal data with any third party without your express written agreement, or without your authorization for our doing so, or when this is required by law or court order.

Acceptance of the Terms for the Keeping of Personal Data Records

In accordance with the provisions of the Data Protection Act, you are entitled to decline the processing of your personal data.

Advertising

Our e-shop does not share your personal data with third parties for the promotion of products and services unless you agree to receiving ad messages. These companies are not entitled to storing your personal data unless you express an interest in their products and services.

5. TRANSACTION SECURITY

Our e-shop transactions are completely safe and can be fully trusted.

Users can purchase products from the Institute’s e-shop with the use of their VISA or MASTERCARD credit cards in the secure pages of the Piraeus Bank website.

If a user’s credit card is registered for the ‘Verified by Visa’ or ‘Mastercard SecureCode’ services, the user is linked to the corresponding secure page of the issuing Bank so as to enter the card’s private code. For more information about these services click here (Verified by Visa) and here (Mastercard SecureCode). Under no circumstances is the card’s private code shared with the Institute.

For the encryption process the SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is used, which is the latest global model for the encryption of information and the secure execution of online transactions.

Aim

The Institute aims to promote the scientific study and the diffusion of the Greek language according to the specifications set in M. Triandaphyllidis' will and in the Institute's Founding Act.

More specifically, the activities of the Institute include:

  • the theoretical and applied, disciplinary and interdisciplinary research in the fields of Greek language and philology;
  • the synchronic and diachronic study of the Greek language;
  • the collection of sources and the compilation of corpora for the study of the Greek language and literature;
  • the publication, by whatever means available, of scientific studies pertaining to the Greek language and literature;
  • the reinforcement of the teaching of the Greek language, both as a first and as a second/foreign language, as well as the promotion of the Greek language abroad.

Moreover, the activities of the Institute include:

  • the filing, the publication and the promotion of the work of the Institute's founder;
  • the implementation of short- and long-term research projects pertaining to the Institute's goals and objectives;
  • the assignment to third parties and the supervision of research projects pertaining to the Institute's goals and objectives;
  • the collaboration with foundations, institutions and various organizations of identical or similar scientific interests, in Greece, in the European Union, or in other countries, and the participation in research projects implemented by these agencies;
  • the organization of conferences, scientific symposiums, lectures, workshops, seminars and various other activities pertaining to the Institute's goals and objectives, as well as the publication of their findings;
  • the awarding of scholarships for studies pertaining to the Institute's goals and objectives.

Finally, according to its founder’s will, the Institute aims to promote the education of the Greek people by whatever means available.

About us

 

The Institute of Modern Greek Studies (Manolis Triandaphyllidis Foundation) was founded in 1959 and its mission, as specified in its founder’s will, is the advance of science, the promotion of the Demotike Language and of Modern Greek philology as well as the promotion of Greek education in general. In this framework, the Institute, with its publications, has made a significant contribution to a wide range of scientific fields, including the study of the Greek language itself, the teaching of Greek, linguistics, and Ancient and Modern Greek philology.

 

Currently, G. M. Parassoglou acts as Chairman of the Board and G. Papanastassiou is the Institute’s Director. The Institute’s offices are located in room 418 of the New Building of the Faculty of Philosophy at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and in 152, Egnatia str., on the sixth floor, where the researchers and the friends of the Institute are always welcome.

  • The Institute is directed by a seven-member Board of Directors , which constitutes its supreme administrative body and is responsible for addressing all the issues concerning the Institute.
  • The President and Director of the Institute are responsible for the implementation of the decisions reached by the Board of Directors and for the monitoring of the Institute’s finances. The President and the Director are assisted in their duties by the Secretary and the Treasurer.
